About Us

Ms. Beki Jones

Ms. Beki Jones is the proud principal of Norwood Elementary! She is dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming environment where staff and students can achieve their greatest potential. Ms. Jones joined Knox County Schools in 2010 as a teacher at Pleasant Ridge Elementary School. In 2014, she became a Math Coach at Pond Gap Elementary School. She later became an iZone Math Facilitator serving Green Magnet Academy, Lonsdale Elementary, Sarah Moore Greene Academy, and Vine Middle School. She began her career in administration in 2017 when she was named assistant principal at Lonsdale Elementary. She was the assistant principal at Ball Camp Elementary School, a position she has held since 2019.

Ms. Jones holds a bachelor's degree in Human Growth and Learning from Tusculum University and a master's degree in Administration and Leadership from Carson Newman University.

Noelle Stuteville

Mrs. Stuteville brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for supporting diverse learners to her role as Assistant Principal at Norwood Elementary, where she has served since 2022. Her career spans more than two decades in early childhood, elementary education, and special education leadership. Before joining Norwood, she served Knox County Schools as a Special Education Facilitator and Mentor, guiding teachers and strengthening instructional practices across the district.

Mrs. Stuteville began her teaching career in Florida, working in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Second Grade before specializing in autism education at Sunrise Elementary. After relocating to Tennessee, she continued her commitment to exceptional education as an Interim Special Education Teacher at East Knox County Elementary and later as a K–5 Special Education Teacher at Ritta Elementary.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Stuteville has been dedicated to ensuring that every child receives the individualized support they need to grow and thrive. Her strong instructional background, mentorship experience, and student-centered approach make her a valued leader within the Norwood Elementary community.

Mr. James Slay

Mr. Slay brings more than ten years of dedicated service to Knox County Schools, with a career committed to fostering strong school communities and supporting student success. He began his work in education as an Educational Assistant at Green Magnet Academy, later teaching 5th grade at Inskip Elementary for five years. His passion for instructional leadership led him into administration, serving as Assistant Principal at Shannondale Elementary and Greene Magnet Academy before becoming Executive Principal at Gap Creek Elementary and then Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Academy. In 2025, Mr. Slay joined Norwood Elementary as Assistant Principal, where he continues to champion student achievement, strengthen family partnerships, and support a positive, thriving school culture.
